The musical philosophies of Ezekiel Liaw
Music, outward expression of human psyche
Music is to our ears as food is to our stomachs; as humans have the ability to eat and appreciate food, we also have the ability to listen to and appreciate music. Similarly as how we can come up with words and sentences to describe our feelings and thoughts, we can perform music as an outward expression of our psyche.
From the earliest discoveries of bone flutes, to the sophisticated invention called the saxophone, music has been synonymous with the existence of humans as far as history has existed. Ezekiel believes that every person has the capabilities to appreciate music, with or without training, and that by structuring lessons and courses for individuals, anyone would be able to create music that resonates strongly within them.

"Music, even in situations of the greatest horror, should never be painful to the ear but should flatter and charm it, and thereby always remain music."
